71st Republic Day Celebrated in LDV

Roing, Jan 26: The 71st Republic Day was celebrated all over the Lower Dibang Valley district, with the rest of the country, with the zeal to reaffirm our faith in the ideas of liberty, equality and fraternity in our democratic republic.

The national flag was unfurled by the Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom(IAS) in the presence of MP Mukut Mithi, SP S. K. Sain, CJM Tailang Laji and other dignitaries present on the occasion. During her speech, Mitali Namchoom informed all on the developmental activities and projects undertaken in the district. She emphasised on ‘Swachhta’ saying that we need to introspect and understand that the idea behind swachtaa is not just about the external environment but our intellectual growth as responsible citizens. The cleansing of mindsets is more important than just disposing garbage, she added.

The DC informed the public about the upcoming mammoth exercises of Decennial Census of 2020-21 and the ensuing elections to the Panchayats and advised that such exercises can see successful realisation only with the collective efforts of all.

Colourful cultural programmes were also presented on the day by school children of the area.

A Sarkar Aapke Dwar was also conducted on the day. The free health camp saw 243 patients registering for health check up and more than 2000 beneficiaries taking advantage of the services provided.
