Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

Roing, Aug 14: A programme ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to mark India’s 75 years of Independence and to commemorate the freedom fighters of Anglo Abor war of 1894 was held today at Bongal Yapgo heritage site, Dambuk, Lower Dibang Valley district.

DC K. N. Damo, along with MLA Gum Tayeng, ZPC Obang Ngupok, SP J. K. Lego, ADC Dambuk Sibo Passing and others paid floral tribute in the war memorial and observed two minutes of silence in honor of all the martyrs.

Adressing the gathering, DC K. N. Damo appealed to the public of Dambuk to maintain the heritage site and assured every possible help in its upkeep.

Secy general BYPC Abu Saring highlighted the program details and read out names of the martyrs who laid down their lives while fighting the British intruders.
