Coordination meeting regarding Covid -19 vaccination held

Roing, 5th April, 2021 : A coordination meeting regarding Covid -19 vaccination was conducted by the District health Society in collaboration with the District Administration at VKV Roing Auditorium today. In the meeting, the Covid 19 SoPs and the vaccination status of all the govt. Departments of the district was reviewed.

The meeting was attended by all the HoDs, ZPC, ZPMs of the district, representatives of Army, BRTF, CRPF, NHIDCL, NHPC, staffs of health departments among others. The DMO, Roing Shri R Tatan while welcoming everyone to the meeting highlighted the aims and
objectives of the meeting. He said that the meeting is an attempt to generate awareness among all the stakeholders the seriousness of new covid 19 infections and also the importance of vaccine. Dr L. C. Deori through powerpoint presentation spoke on the covid -19 mutation and the second wave of covid 19 infections. He said that the emergence of new variants of virus is a matter of grave concern as the new variants are more infectious and the new cases of covid infections are rising at a faster rate than the first wave.

Dr Victoria, Representative of the WHO presented a PowerPoint on the importance of the vaccine. She enlightened everyone on the safety and efficacy of the covid -19 vaccines. She urged everyone to trust the vaccine and follow covid 19 SoP. Dr Raju Mena, DRCHO gave an update on the vaccination status of the district. He requested all the HoDs and PRI members to cooperate with the District Administration and the Health department to improve the vaccine coverage of the district. He said that the vaccine should be taken for the safety of others if not for oneself.

An open discussion session to clear doubts and identify lacunas regarding the vaccination process was held wherein all the stakeholders actively participated. The ZPC and ZPMs informed that similar meetings will be conducted at gram level to disseminate information on the vaccine at grassroot level.

Ms Kenter Lendo, CO, Roing, who was chairing the meeting urged all the HoDs to ensure and monitor vaccination status of their respective departments. She also asked the HODs to ensure that their staffs coming from outside state be mandatorily asked to undergo covid 19 test before joining the office.
