Dance Workshop concludes

Roing, March 10: A 15 days classical kathak dance workshop organised by the North East zonal cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, Nagaland, in collaboration with the Department of Art and culture and District Administration, Lower Dibang Valley concluded today. Deputy Commissioner Soumya Saurabh attended the ceremony and gave away certificates to the participating children.

DC Soumya Saurabh, addressing the gather, appreciated the dance teacher for her dedication in teaching the children and encouraged the parents present to send their children to participate in co-curricular activities. Such activities boosts the child’s self confidence and improve their stage performance, she added. She also assured to organise many more such programmes to improve the penetration of classical dance forms in the area and benefit the children.

ZPM Komji Linggi said that such workshops encouraged the children and helped develop their mental health. Extra curricular activities should be concentrated upon as it helps in the all round development of the children, he added.

DACO Sira Meto said that such classical dance workshops helped instill moral values, ethics and discipline in children. CO Rosalind Pertin, DPO Marto Dirchi and DLEO Rokom Tayeng were also present during the programme.
