DC Roing Inspects Flood Control Works

Roing, May 26: Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom (IAS) inspected and assessed the flood control works of Navayuga Company, DRDA and WRD, Roing to protect Bomjir village and the state’s longest Dibang bridge against mighty Dibang river which flows towards Bomjir village, on 25th May 2018. She was accompanied by Marto Dirchi (DPO), Er. Onit Panyang (EE, WRD), Oling Lego (PD, DRDA), Indu Linggi (PRO, Navayuga Co.) and their team of engineers.

The villagers informed that more than 100 meters of the banks of Dibang river, towards Bomjir village, has been washed away in the last two years and the agricultural lands and orange festival artists camps are inundated with water.

The DC directed the Works executing agencies to take immediate measures to mitigate the flood damage. She also reviewed the preparation for CM’s visit to Roing and Dambuk.
