District Level Literary & Athletic Meet Held

The 1st ever District Level Literary & Athletic Meet under Mukhya Mantri Champion Scheme 2022-23 was organized at the Government Secondary School and the General Ground, Roing today on 17th April 2023.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Soumya Saurabh emphasized on the importance of sports for our health and well being. She also highlighted the value of such literary and athletic competitions in a students life and encouraged the students to perform well.

The event started with Literary competition like Quiz, Extempore Speech, Elocution, Story Writing, Essay Writing and Drawing and Painting held at GSS, Roing. Alhletic events comprising of 100 mtr, 200 mtr, 400 mtr, 1500 mtr, 3000 mtr, 4 x 400 mtr relay race for boys and girls along with Shot put, Discus and Javelin throw for boys and girls were held at the General Ground, Roing.

In the Literary events GHSS Bolung won the most awards having won 1st position in 2 events and 1st Runner up in 3 events. In the athletic event GHSS Roing bagged the most award with 9 awards (7 wins, 2 1st Runner up) closely followed by GHSS Dambuk winning 8 awards (4 wins, 4 1st Runner Up). On the individual front Ini Passing of GHSS Roing, Ayang Megu of GSS Bizari and Gemo Gamno of GSS Parbuk won 3 awards each.

The winners were awarded with Trophy and Certificate of Merit. The winners will represent the District at the State Level Mukhya Mantri Champion Meet 2022-23.

Also present were DDSE Deepak Tayeng, Principal GHSS Roing Dajum Lego, Principal GHSS Dambuk Abu Saring, Principal GHSS Bolung Namkin Gamno, BEO-cum-Organizer Obang Langkam and all the Headmaster of Govt. Sec. Schools.
