District Task Force on Immunisation(DTFI) meeting and review of health and wellness centres

Roing, Feb 24: A District Task Force on Immunisation(DTFI) meeting and review of health and wellness centres was held today at the District Hospital Auditorium, Roing in the presence of MLA Mutchu Mithi, Deputy Commissioner Soumya Saurabh, DMO Dr. T. Taki, DTFI members, Health Programme Officers, medical officers, heads of departments, nurses and others.

The house reviewed the full immunisation status of the district, Covid 19 vaccination for 18+ and 15 to 18 years, performance of health and wellness centres, IPPI day and programmes under Reproductive and Child Health, NVBDCP, Tuberculosis programme, AIDS control programme, IDSP, CMAAY/ PMJAY etc.

MLA Mutchu Mithi appreciated the health care workers for their diligent work during the COVID 19 pandemic and thanked them for their selfless and dedicated work. He also spoke about the need to look after the mental health of terminally ill patients and provide them with counselling to support them in their difficult days.

The MLA advised all to create awareness and called for information dissemination through social media platforms to reach wider masses. He also advised the medical fraternity to provide services of minor operation procedures that could be done in the district itself, which would do away with the hassle of people travelling to other districts and outside the state and benefit the public.

DC Soumya Saurabh spoke about the importance of caring for mental health of the public and need and scope for increased institutional delivery in the district. On COVID 19 immunisation, she urged that 100% vaccination should be achieved in 15-18 years category, with the opening of schools in the district. She also mooted the idea of house to house booster COVID 19 vaccination for the elderly and infirm. The DC advised all to double their energies and efficiency to reach out to maximum number of people and improve the health care scenario in the district.

Programme Officers DRCHO Dr. Raju Mena, DVBDCPO Dr. N. Yirang, Tobacco and AIDS Control Programme Officer Dr. S. J. Mitapo, IDSP Officer Dr L. C. Deori and DMEIO Dilip Deb explained about the activities undertaken in the district and the achievements under each programme. A review was also done of the civil works/ infrastructure development work under the Health and Family Welfare department.
