District Task Force on Immunization Meeting Held

Roing, June 29: ‘Although the focus these days is mainly on COVID-19 vaccinations and maintaining the SOP to keep COVID 19 away, we shouldn’t lose focus and lag behind in Routine Immunization to vaccinate our children’, said Deputy Commissioner K. N. Damo during a District Task Force on Immunization (DTFI) meeting on Routine Immunization (RI) and COVID-19 vaccination held today at the DC’s Conference Hall, Roing.

The DC also gave an update on the Covid situation in the district and called for creation of awareness on the importance of vaccination and the need for following the SOP. He said that it is important for the people to wear mask, maintain hand hygiene and follow social distancing norms in the town as well as in the villages. He also urged all the Medical Officers to work in coordination and cooperation with Administrative Officers,PRI members and the public to fight against COVID-19 and bring the numbers down in the Lower Dibang Valley district.

DMO Dr. R. Tatan admired the efforts put in by the MOs and their teams in covering up the areas and reaching maximum number of beneficiaries of COVID- 19 vaccine. He stressed that vaccination has no borders and urged the doctors to vaccinate all who come forward to get the shot.

DRCHO Dr. Raju Mena gave a presentation on the coverage under Routine Immunization in the district and numbers under COVID-19 vaccinations. The district has so far seen 21416 people (HCW, FLW,18+,45+) vaccinated with the 1st dose and 2817 people fully vaccinated.
