First Round of Election Training underway in Lower Dibang Valley district

Roing, Feb 14: Lower Dibang Valley district is gearing up for the upcoming elections with the first round of Election training being imparted to Sector officers, polling personnel and security personnel in the district.

The training sessions began on 7th February for security personnel, 11th February for sector officers, 12th February for female polling personnel and 13th, 14th and 15th February for male polling personnel.

The training for 20 sector officers covered their duties, responsibilities and powers. They were also apprised about the legal and operational aspects of their duty.

The training for polling personnel covered theoretical aspects as per RP Act 1951. Their roles and responsibilities at the time of poll, before poll and after poll was also explained to them. All the participants were given hands on training on EVM and VVPAT handling.

Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom(IAS) advised all to diligently learn during the training and discharge their duties with full dedication and sincerity. She said that it was the responsibility of all to ensure fair conduct of elections in the district.

Master Trainers Arvind Pangging(CO), Dilip Kumar Deb (DMEIO) and Basant Singh (Principal, DIET) imparted training to the participants.
