Roing, July 6: Deputy Commissioner K. N. Damo launched a programme of free ration distribution for vulnerable families in LDV, today, at the office of AMYAA NGO, Roing. The programme is facilitated by AMYAA NGO, UMEED project and sponsored by Crypto Relief.

DC K. N. Damo appreciated AMYAA NGO for their noble deed in these difficult times and enjoined all to follow COVID appropriate behaviour of mask wearing, washing hands with water/ sanitizer and social distancing. He stressed that although inconvenience and difficulty might be faced following the SOP, norms had to be followed as the disease does not discriminate and it is also difficult to tell whether a person is COVID 19 negative or positive without testing.

The DC also put special emphasis on the importance of getting vaccinated and advised all to get vaccinated at the earliest. He also spoke on the need to recycle and properly dispose off plastic waste.

R. K. Paul Chawang, Secretary (AMYAA NGO) informed that 2500 ration kits had been received and AMYAA has allocated 1000 kits for LDV, 1000 kits for Namsai and 500 kits for Dibang Valley district.
