MP Mukut Mithi Inaugurates Police Beat House at Roing

Roing, Aug 16: With the opening of the Bhupen Hazarika bridge, which is the longest bridge in India, the tourist inflow in the lower Dibang Valley district has increased resulting in the increasing accident reports and crime. In order to augment a safe and friendly atmosphere, a Police Beat House equipped with CCTVs and Public Announcement System has been inaugurated in the heart of Roing Township by Mukut Mithi, M.P ( Rajya Sabha ) on 15th August 2018. The District Police Tourist Unit, which is primarily/exclusively responsible to facilitate and extend its support to tourists in need will function from this Police Beat House.
The Beat House which is located in the heart of Roing Market will be of great significance in controlling the wanton elements in and around the market. The CCTVs which have been installed in the town including vulnerable areas will be monitored 24/7 through this Beat House. After the recent unfateful inferno in Roing,a need for Public Address System in the town to alert the Public in times of natural calamities and disasters has been felt. As such the Police Beat House has been equipped with a Public Address System.
Apart from the beat house inauguration, the District Police also rewarded all the children who were the winners of Essay Competition on the topic “Drug Menace “ with cash prizes of Rs. 5100/-,Rs.3100/- and Rs. 2100.
Iho Linggi, who has been a Good Samaritan by displaying sheer courage and determination in helping the fire tenders of Police Department in trying to curb the blazing fire on 31-7-2018 was also rewarded with a Commendation Certificate and cash amount of Rs.21,000/- ( rupees twenty one thousand only) by SP Roing. The District Police has also contributed a sum of Rs.50,000/- ( Rupees fifty thousand only ) to the fire victims through the District Administration.
