National Girl Child Day Observed at Roing

Roing, Jan 24: The National Girl Child Day, with a focus on celebrating the girl child, was celebrated today at the V.K.V Auditorium, Roing. Students and teachers from different Schools, government departments, NGOs, mothers of newborn girl children, BBBP Local Champions, CDPOs and field functionaries participated in the program.

DDSE Ego Doye administered the BBBP pledge and celebrated the birth of girl children present by cutting cake and giving them gifts. All the resource persons spoke on the importance and value of girl child in the Indian society.

DD(ICDS) G.A Perying spoke on the importance of education in empowering women through the BBBP program.

The programme ended with a prize distribution ceremony for winners of painting and slogan writing competition conducted in various schools of the area.
