Persons With Disability Honoured during National Voters Day at Roing

Roing, Jan 25: People with Disability who are registered voters and BLOs from across the district were honoured today during the National Voters Day celebration at the Auditorium of G. H. S. School, Roing. The programme was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom, Arjun Mene (PWD icon), HoDs, teachers and students from various schools of the area.

DC Mitali Namchoom commended the courage of the persons with disability who took part in the electoral process despite facing challenges in their daily lives. She also appreciated the Booth Level Officers(BLOs) who played the vital role of collecting detailed information from people at their doorsteps.

Informing the students about the long and difficult exercise that the electoral process is, she advised them to learn about the whole process. This information will help in your becoming good voters, choosing good representatives and becoming good leaders, she added.

Arjun Meme spoke on the importance of of educating the youth and creating enthusiasm amongst them for the electoral process.

The day also saw the presentation of talks by Debate competition winners, a skit play on the importance of voting for good leaders, distribution of prizes for wall paintings competition,felicitation of PWD voters and BLOs and taking of NVD pledge.
