POLICE ACTS TOUGH TO UPHOLD THE SYSTEM OF JUSTICE

Roing, Feb 5: In a bizarre and shocking incident some miscreants forcibly broke open the main entry gate of Roing Police Station on 2nd February 2019 and vandalized a bus which was kept in the PS premises after being seized in connection with Roing PS Case No.14/2019 U/S 279/304(A) IPC. The miscreants vandalised the bus and set it ablaze. However, the fire was doused by the fire brigade.

The bus had been seized in connection with an accident that occurred on 1st February 2019 wherein a motorcyclist identified as Ogan Lego, S/O Jonom Lego of Rayang Village, Roing succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the bus had fled the scene of accident before the arrival of the Police. A post mortem was conducted on 2nd February 2019 and the body handed over to the family for last rites.

Acting tough on the matter 6(six) persons have been arrested after they were identified through photos and video footage of the incident. A case has been registered against them vide Roing PS Case No.15/2019 U/S 147/148/151/447/427/353/186/436 IPC R/W Sec.3 of PDPP Act. More arrests are likely as some of the miscreants are absconding and concealing themselves to evade Police arrest.

SP Roing, Sanjay Kr. Sain, IPS seeking cooperation from all the Roing based societies, parental organisations and student unions has warned that no one is above the law and anyone trying to take law in their own hands will be dealt with in a firm manner.
