Pre-Panchayat Election Awareness Campaign

Roing, Mar 16: A Pre-Panchayat Election Awareness Campaign for General Masses: Leadership Incubation through Panchayati Raj System was held today at Roing in the presence of MLA Mutchu Mithi, ADC cum DPDO Tapik Pertin, administrative officers, heads of department, members of Panchayat Interim Committee, Gaon Burahs and general pubic at V. K. V. Auditorium, Roing.

MLA Mutchu Mithi spoke on the importance of the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections and created awareness on the Covid 19 Corona virus. He advised the public to be aware, take precautionary measures and follow rules put in place.

Speaking on the Panchayati Raj elections, he called it an opportunity for the people of the villages to choose leaders who would work for the betterment of the villages. He said that the elected leaders will get the powers and responsibilities assigned to them and advised all to choose leaders who would work according to the principles laid down.

The duty of the Panchayat Raj institution is to create awareness on the ways to take the village economy forward and work towards the goal from the grass root level, Mithi stated. He promised to work together with all towards the development of the district.

ADC Tapik Pertin also spoke on the occasion. PD DRDA Oling Lego spoke on the salient features of various RD flagship programmes- MGNREGA, RuRBAN, PMAYG and role of PRIs. EAC Olak Apang spoke spoke on PR system in Arunachal Pradesh: past and future with focus on Arunachal Pradesh PR Amendment Act 2018 and RGSA as a tool to strengthen PRIs and GPDP.

DDSE Deepak Tayeng spoke spoke on major education schemes under education department and DMO Dr R. Tatan spoke on all major health schemes. William Lahiry (Project Manager APSRLM) spoke on PRI- SHG convergence: NRLM initiative.

The program is an effort to sensitise the masses on the new Panchayati Raj system, sustainable development goals, leadership and dissemination of information about various flagship programmes of the government.
