Roing, July: The DTFI meeting for Routine Immunization, COVID 19 vaccination, review of health and wellness centres was held today at DC’s Conference Hall, Roing. Health programmes of AIDS control, TB control, NVBDCP and NCD and Bio medical waste management was also discussed.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Soumya Saurabh advised the Medical Officers to put in extra efforts to ensure wider coverage under Routine Immunisation and to conduct more ORS to cover children who have been left out due to varied reasons.
Speaking on COVID 19 vaccination in the district, she advised for the speeding up of coverage of children of 12-15 years and 15-18 years under Har Ghar Dastak and Har School Dastak programmes.
DMO Dr. T. Taki advised all the programme officers to ensure regular and timely updating of data to reflect the work done in the district. He also informed about Bio medical waste management and the right practices for its disposal.
DRCHO Dr. Raju Mena informed about the Routine Immunisation coverage being 104 %, COVID 19 vaccination for 18+ being 85.3 %, for 15-18 years being 68.2% and 12-14 years being 29.9 % in the district.
Dr. S. J. Mitapo spoke about TB control programme and the target for its elimination in the country set as the year 2025 and the Ni-kshay Mitra project- a community support for TB patients.
Dr. N. Yirang spoke on the NVBDCP and the importance of taking precautions to stop the breeding of mosquitos and keeping the surroundings clean. Dr L. C. Deori spoke on NCD and the importance of timely data update.
