Vaccination Utsav launched in Lower Dibang Valley on 11 April 2021

ROING, 11th April, 2021 : The vaccination utsav in line with the national vaccination programme was launched in a befitting manner at Lower Dibang Valley District today. The vaccination progress and enforcement of covid-19 SoPs were also reviewed on the occasion. The programme has been launched to contain the surge of covid-19 cases through a 4 day vaccination programme, informed the DRCHO, Dr R. Mena while highlighting the aims and objectives of the utsav. Through the programme, the govt. is aiming to vaccinate at least 20% of the population for which the vaccination sessions will be increased in all the health centres and also the vaccination drive and awareness will be carried out in all the sub centres, he further informed.
On the occasion, the ZPMs of the district presented an account of the measures adopted in their respective blocks for enforcement of covid 19 SoPs and vaccination awareness drive. They also offered advice and suggestions to contain the surge of covid cases in the district. The DC, Shri K N Damo said that the vaccination utsav is a blessing in disguise for the district considering the unprecedented rise of covid 19 cases in the district. Stressing on the importance of the drive, he urged the Medical Department to plan a mechanism as per guideline to extend the vaccination centres to the market area and also remote villages in order to inoculate maximum number of eligible people. He also urged the DMO to ensure 100 % vaccination of the health care workers. He emphasized on the mandatory use of face mask and following of covid protocol in public areas and gatherings. He sought cooperation from everyone present to contain the spread of the virus and expressed hope that with the concerted effort of all the stakeholders, the district will definitely become disease free. The SP also spoke. Earlier, the DMO incharge, Dr N. Yirang presented the welcome address.
