World Milk Day Observed by KVK, Balek.

Roing, June 1: World Milk Day, a day observed to let the people know about importance of Milk as a valuable food in one’s diet, was celebrated at Jia Village today by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Balek, Lower Dibang Valley.

Various programmes were conducted as part of the celebration of World Milk Day. A training programme was conducted on production and management of dairy farming by Veterinary Officer (Parbuk Sub Division) Dr. Migri, who briefed about the dairy industry’s sustainability activities, role of dairy in economic development and livelihood creation.

A training cum demonstration programme on various value-added products was also conducted for farmers, by the Subject Matter Specialist(Home Sc). She briefed about the significance of Milk in human health especially emphasizing on the low consumption of Milk by tribal communities of the district. She also urged the farmers to include Milk and Milk products in ones daily meal to make it a complete food and a part of balance diet.

All together 27 farm women and Dairy Farmers benefited from the programme.
