The IPR department disseminates information on the government’s policies and programmes, day to day happenings and developments taking place to the masses, through the means of press releases and articles in state and local dailies, updating in social media accounts and through town announcements.
The IPR department, in consultation with the District Administration and concerned department, has the responsibility of formulating suitable publicity plans and organizing publicity campaigns on various socio-economic development programmes of the government.
The department is the nodal agency to coordinate with AIR, Doordarshan and private media houses for coverage of events and programmes. It also looks after the local DD VLPT and AIR FM transmission units in the districts. The department is the nodal agency for sending out government advertisements to empanelled newspapers in the state.
