The department is engaged in promotion of industrial activities and employment and livelihood generation programs. Under CSS viz. Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) subsidies are provided to the beneficiaries to assist them in setting up of new businesses in manufacturing and service sector. Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) specifically focuses on formalizing of micro food processing units through subsidy and technical assistance. Special focus is given to One District One Product (ODOP) under the scheme. ODOP for Lower Dibang Valley District being ‘GINGER’.
The department currently manages and supervises an Industrial estate measuring an area of 10 acres at Bom Godown, Roing. There are currently 4 wood based Industries and one Kuttha manufacturing unit functioning within the premises of the Industrial estate. Lease rents are realized on a monthly basis from the units. Rates are fixed as follows;
Rs 1.00 per sq m. per month to open space.
Rs 3.00 per sq m per month on shed.
In order to simplify registration of enterprises a one-page simple registration form online filing of Udyam Registration has been introduced by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt of India. The filing can be done at udyamregistration.gov.in. DIC Roing assists and encourages entrepreneurs to get registered in Udyam portal.
Enterprenuer’s Development Programme (EDP) is conducted annually by DIC Roing to promote awareness about the ongoing schemes under various departments. The participants are provided an opportunity to interact with the Resource Persons and Bank officials. Various queries and issues relating to enterprising are discussed.
