1. Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM):

With the launching of Jal Jeevan Mission a flagship programme on 24th December’2019 under the Ministry of Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Hon’ble Prime Minister envisaged to provide potable drinking water to every Household (Har Ghar Jal) by 2024. Sighting which, the Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh set a target to complete the mission by 2023.

As per the baseline survey report registered with the IMIS in the Ministry portal, Lower Dibang Valley has a Total Household of 10,800, of which 7224 HH has already been achieved by providing a functional household tap connection (FHTC) by 31st of March’2022.

The District with 3 CD Blocks, 60 Gram Panchayats, 268 Villages and 392 Habitations, 268 Nos. of Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) is already formed and out of which 92 Nos. of joint Bank Accounts have been opened against every VWSCs in which 19 Nos. HGJ in – village water supply system has been handed over to the VWSCs so far.

2. Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin-Phase-II (SBM-G Ph-II)

Swachh Bharat Mission –Phase-I was launched on 2nd October, 2014 by the Government of India to accelerate the efforts to achieve universal sanitation. The programme aims to achieve Open Defecation Free (ODF) in rural areas and improve overall cleanliness through Solid & Liquid Waste Management and behavioral change of the rural population through IEC activities. The main components under SBM-G Ph-I were Individual Household Latrine (IHHL), Community Sanitary Complex (CSC) and Solid & Liquid Waste Management (SLWM). All the villages under Lower Dibang Valley District attained ODF status on 31st December, 2017 under SBM-G Ph-I.

And, Swachh Bharat Mission-Phase-II was launched on February, 2020 with an objective to sustain ODF Plus status of villages through Solid & Liquid Waste Management and bring a change in mindset of the people through IEC campaigns. The main components under SBM-G Ph-II are IHHL, CSC, Retrofitting of toilets, Solid Waste Management (SWM), Grey Water Management (GWM), Plastic Waste Management (PWS), Faecal Sludge management (FSM) and GOBAR DHAN. All the components under SBM-G, Ph-II except IHHL and PWS, are to be implemented in convergence with 15th FC / MGNREGA with a sharing pattern of 70% of the fund under SBM-G and 30%of fund under 15th FC/ MGNREGA. In Lower Dibang Valley District, PHE & WS Division, Roing constructed 184nos of IHHLs, 9nos. of CSCs and  implemented  Solid & Grey Water Waste Management in 48 villages under the programme SBM-G, Ph-II.
