The Objectives of the PMKSY are to:
a) Achieve convergence of investments in irrigation at the field level (Preparation of district level and, if required, sub district level water use plans).
b) Enhance the physical access of water on the farm and expand cultivable area under assured irrigation (Har Khet ko pani).
c) Integration of water source, distribution and its efficient use, to make best use of water through appropriate technologies and practices.
d) Improve on-farm water use efficiency to reduce wastage and increase availability during lean period
PMKSY consists of the following components that are carried out by WRD:
1. PMKSY(Har Khet Ko Pani)
Hark khet ko pani (HKKP) components of PMKSY aims at creation of new water sources through Minor Irrigation (both surface and ground water) and to enhance the physical access of water on the farm and expand cultivable area under assured irrigation(Har Khet Ko pani).
a) Surface Minor Irrigation (SMI):-
This component focuses on utilization of surface water for irrigation purpose. SMI comprises of construction of storage structures, diversion head works, lift irrigation etc. Water Resources Division Roing has proposed to irrigate a total of 4412.62 hectares of land for a total expenditure Rs 17650.40 lakhs during 2021-2025.

In this Tube wells with solar panels including Energization and dug wells are constructed for accessing the ground water. Water Resources Division Roing has completed construction and energization of 77 nos. of tube well (Phase1) to irrigate 241.78 hectares of land and further proposed 77 nos. Tube wells and 30 nos. Dug wells(Phase II).
