About us:
The Deputy Director Textile & Handicrafts, Office Roing which is associated with the culture of the people with its rich heritage of traditional handloom & handicrafts activities. The Department is having 2 nos. Craft Centres in the District, where wages skilled training are imparted to the local unemployed youth with total of 40 (Forty) trainees in different trades. Paying stipend @ Rs. 3000/- per month per trainees.
The passed out trainees are engaged as production worker to make them self dependent. The production charges are paid in piecemeal rate basis as per standard norms of wages rate without compromising quality. Those who works more will get more wages and work less will get fewer wages. The production worker is working under working Capital/Revolving fund schemes and the entrepreneurs and artisans are getting direct benefits from these schemes.
The department is also having 1(one) Emporium in the District, where masters, trainees and other finished product are being sale as sales outlet to encourage marketing of local Handlooms and Handicrafts items.
